Paddling with the Apostles: from Bethsaida to Capernaum, Tabgha and the Church of the Primacy
Your guides will give a short orientation talk on the Sea of Galilee as well as instructions on paddling and safety precautions.
Upon entering the water we will paddle the Jordan Delta, near the ancient fishing village of Bethsaida, birthplace of Christ’s apostles, Peter, Andrew and Phillip. We will spend some time observing the huge variety of bird and aquatic wildlife which live in this part of the lake. Special Walkonwater waterproof Bird guide helps you to identify Herons, Kingfishers, Cormorants and many bird inhabitant of the lake. We continue our paddling another 2 Km.
which will bring us to the Church at Capernaum, allegedly the spot where Christ chose his twelve apostles. Here we will partake of a simple open-air breakfast in the breathtakingly beautiful garden of the Greek Church. Back to the kayaks, we will continue paddling about 3 Km south to the Church of the Primacy of St. Peter, where Jesus entrusted Peter with continuing his work and so to lay the foundations of the Christian religion.
Depending on time we will take a short walk which will bring us to the Church of Loaves and Fishes in Tabgha, where we can see the world-famous mosaic of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes which more than anything, symbolises the miracle of the feeding of the 5000. Another 1 Km paddling will bring us to the Pilgerhaus, Tabgha where we can see the fantastic bamboo chapel as well as enjoy a cold beer and German Apple strudel.
Paddling on ‘Heaven’s Water’: From the Castle wall of Tiberias city to Jordan River and John the Baptist site.

Upon entering the water we will paddle about 2 Km in order to get acquainted with our kayak. Our first stop will be at the hot springs in Tiberias to see some of the most astounding ancient mosaics in the Middle East.
We continue our paddling with a 6 Km trip around the southern part of the lake to the point where the Jordan River exits the Sea of Galilee and winds its way southwards towards the Dead Sea.
Helped by the Special waterproof Bird guide we would define 5-8 Herons species and 3 kinds of Kingfishers nesting and inhabiting the lakefront of the lake in this region. We will also make a short journey on the Lower Jordan River itself. Leaving the kayaks at the mouth of the Jordan River, we will pay a visit to the world famous baptismal site where John the Baptist baptised Christ.

Upon entering the water we will paddle about 2 Km under the cliff of Mount Arbel to a part of the lake called Gennesaret (Luke 5:1). Our first stop will be at Magdala Beach for a simple open-air breakfast. Leaving the kayaks we will pay a visit to Magdala, home of Mary Magdalena. We will walk to one of the most impressive archeological sites ever found in Israel.
The site includes a simple building that was used as a house of worship between the years 20-30 AD, the exact time when Christ went down from Nazareth and met Mary Magdelena. After walking round the site we will regroup in the beautiful new “Duc In Altum” Sprituality Center.
Back to the kayaks, we will continue paddling northwest to the visitor’s center in Ginosar. Here during a drought in the 1990’s, fishermen found the well-preserved remains of a wooden boat from the first century – exactly the type of boat that Jesus’ disciple’s, many of whom were fishermen, would have used. Leaving the kayaks on the shore, we will walk round the visitor’s center to see this unique boat.
